Recovery of deeply discharged "dead" batteries
Unlike most other brands and ranges, the Blue Smart IP22 charger will attempt to recharge a deeply discharged battery by forcing a low charge current through it. Normal charging will then resume once sufficient voltage is present between the battery terminals.

Adaptive 7-stage charging algorithm
The 24/16(1) Blue Smart charger is characterized by its microprocessor-controlled, “adaptive” battery management. “Adaptive” means that the charging process is automatically adapted to the type of battery use.
Storage mode: Less maintenance and aging when the battery is idle
Storage mode is activated whenever no discharge has occurred within 24 hours. The float charge voltage is then reduced to 2.2V/cell (13.2V for a 24V battery) to minimize gassing and prevent corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is increased to the level of the gassing voltage. This creates a kind of equalization charge that prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation - the two main causes of premature battery failure.
