Battery information

Information on batteries and accumulators

As a distributor of batteries or of devices containing batteries, we inform you of the following in accordance with the German Battery Act (Batterierecht-Durchführungsgesetz, BattDG) and Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 (EU Battery Regulation).

1. Separate collection and free return of waste batteries

Waste batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of with household waste. As an end user, you are legally obliged to hand in waste batteries for separate collection. You can return waste batteries free of charge, for example at the collection points of the public waste management authorities (recycling centres) and at retailers. Waste batteries partly contain pollutants that can harm the environment and health if disposed of improperly, as well as valuable raw materials that are recovered through recycling. You contribute to waste prevention by using durable and rechargeable batteries and by not disposing of batteries prematurely.

2. Meaning of the "crossed-out wheeled bin" symbol and of the chemical symbols

Batteries and accumulators are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin. It indicates that they must not be placed in household waste and must be collected separately. If the battery contains more than 0.002 percent by mass of cadmium or more than 0.004 percent by mass of lead, the chemical symbol of the substance concerned is shown below the symbol: "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead.

3. Return option with us

We take back free of charge waste batteries of the type that we sell or have sold as new batteries (in particular battery storage systems as industrial batteries), regardless of brand and origin. For the return, we offer you a return option within a reasonable distance after prior arrangement. Please contact us for this purpose (email kontakt@energie24.shop, telephone +49 931 760 260 40). We will then name a return point that can reasonably be reached. Address: NeueEnergie24 GmbH, Raiffeisenstr. 8, 97209 Veitshöchheim, Germany.

4. Information on batteries containing lithium

Batteries and accumulators containing lithium can catch fire if damaged or improperly disposed of. Therefore, do not place waste batteries in household waste or in the recycling bin. If batteries are damaged, swollen or leaking, hand them in at a collection point separately from other batteries. Before handing in devices with built-in batteries, delete your personal data where applicable.

5. Questions

If you have questions about the return and disposal of batteries, you can reach us by email at kontakt@energie24.shop, by telephone at +49 931 760 260 40 or via our contact form.
