Extension cables: selection and advice
If the panel's cable does not reach the inverter, extension cables solve the problem. Here you will find suitable solutions for roofs, balconies and window feed-throughs.
Measure the distance from the panel to the inverter and add cable routing and reserve. Make sure the cross-section and connector system match your system.
Our range includes solar cable extensions with 4 mm² in pairs, as well as a flat window feed-through cable that can be routed even when the window is closed.
Route the cable so that it is not crushed or sharply bent, and protect plug connections from standing water. Cables routed outdoors should be UV-resistant; you will find details on the material in the product description. It is better to plan the run somewhat generously than too tightly.
Care matters especially with window feed-throughs: the flat cable should not be sharply bent or pinched anywhere. After installation, check the run occasionally for pressure marks.
