Growatt SPF 5000 ES off-grid inverter
The Growatt SPF 5000 ES is an inverter that can be operated both with and without a battery. The maximum input voltage is 450VDC. The integration of an MPPT charge controller optimizes the charging and discharging of the battery to extend its lifespan. Priority can be given to charging via the power grid or the connected PV system. The system can also be monitored remotely via a WiFi or GPRS dongle. Parallel scaling is supported.
Charge controller
The MPPT charge controller lowers the voltage of the modules to the required level to charge the battery. The current is increased in the same proportion as the voltage is decreased. The GoodWe GW25K-SDT-30 is a three-phase string inverter from the SDT G3 series that is designed for medium to large residential or small business PV systems. It allows PV power oversizing of up to 150% on the DC side and AC overload of up to 110% to optimize yields during peak times. The inverter is equipped with three MPPT inputs, supporting flexible module configurations, and each MPPT input allows two strings. For safety, protection mechanisms such as integrated surge protection (Type II on AC and DC), insulation monitoring, reverse current monitoring and optional arc fault detector (AFCI) are provided. With lead batteries, it is crucial to keep the constant voltage phase short during shallow discharges in order to prevent the battery from being overcharged. After a deep discharge, the constant voltage phase is automatically extended to ensure that the battery is fully charged. The Smartsolar 100/20-48 from Victron Energy (MPN SCC110020160R) is one MPPT Solar Charge controller with 20A max. charging current for charging 12V, 24V and 48V batteries. In contrast to the Bluesolar version, the Smart version has integrated Bluetooth, which makes the purchase of Bluetooth dongles unnecessary. Intelligent load output
Deep discharging of the battery can be prevented by connecting all loads to the load output. The load output disconnects the loads when the battery has been discharged to a specified voltage value. Alternatively, you can also choose an algorithm for intelligent battery management: see BatteryLife.The load output is short-circuit proof.
Battery Life: intelligent battery management
If the solar charge controller is unable to charge the battery to its full capacity within a day, the battery's status will constantly cycle back and forth between "partially charged" and "end of discharge". This operating mode (no regular full charging) damages a lead-acid battery within a few weeks or months.
The Battery-Life algorithm monitors the battery charge level and, if necessary, increases the load disconnection threshold day by day (i.e. the load is disconnected earlier) until the energy obtained is sufficient to charge the battery to almost 100%. From this point onwards, the threshold for switching off the load is modulated so that close to 100% charging is achieved approximately once a week.Scope of delivery:
