The Victron Energy Ve.Bus BMS V2 (MPN: BMS300200200) is the next generation of VE.Bus BMS for Victron Lithium Smart Batteries (LFP-Smart) 12.8V and 25.6V. Each single cell of a Lifepo4 battery must be protected against overvoltage, undervoltage and over temperature. The Ve.Bus BMS V2 takes over exactly this task. The product is suitable for protecting 12V, 24V and 48V batterys and works in a operating voltage range of 9 - 70 VDC.
VE-BUS BMS V2 in interaction with Victtrons Lifepo4 Batteries
Victron LIFEPO4 batteries have a built-in cell compensation, temperature and voltage control (short brief designation: BTV) You will be connected to the VE.BUS BMS V2 via two M8 round connector cable sets. The BTVs of several batteries can be chained together. They can be switched in series, parallel and in a row and in parallel, which means that a battery range of 12V, 24V or 48V can be interpreted. Up to 20 batteries in one system are possible, which leads to an energy storage of max. 84KWH in a 12V system and 102kWh in a 24V and 48V system. For more details, please refer to the technical documents for our Lifepo4 battery.
Core tasks of the Victron Ve.Bus BMS V2
- Specially developed for use with Victron Lithium Battery Smart 12.8 V & 25.6 V batteries.
- Communicates directly with the lithium battery via the M8 circuit connecting cable of the battery
- Switch off or separate from VE.Bus inverter or inverters/chargers via Ve.bus and other loads via the terminal "load", in the event of a cell subtle voltage
- Switch off or separate from Ve.Bus inverter or inverters/chargers via Ve.bus, Ve.Direct and Ve.can solar charyer via a GX device and other chargers via the terminal "separate", in the case of a cell overvoltage, lower temperature or over temperature.
Difference to the Ve.Bus BMS
The VE.Bus BMS V2 was specially developed for use in systems with GX devices and is therefore perfect for eating or backup applications with a battery capacity of up to 84KWH (12V) or 102KWH (24V/48V).
The BMS V2 also has a remote contact for remote control (on/off).
Communication with Ve.Bus products
Multiplus, Quattro or Phoenix inverters are connected to the "Multiplus/Quattro" connection with a standard RJ45 UTP cable.
The BMS deactivates the inversion in the event of an undervoltage of the cell and loading in the event of overvoltage or over temperature of the cell
Communication with remote control devices
A GX device (e.g. Cerbo GX), a digital multi control (DMC) panel or a Ve.Bus Smart Dongle (including any combination) can be connected to the BMS via the "Remote control panel". This accessories can be used in combination with the BMS to controll the switching condition of the VE.Bus inverter or the inverter / charger (one / only / only charger)
Clamps for additional inputs and outputs
The BMS has a special power output (GX-Power) for a GX device and an additional power input (AUX-in) for an external DC source, e.g. B. a network adapter. In the event of a system shutdown, the GX device is further supplied with electricity to prevent a further unloading of the battery via the auxiliary voltage receipt or separated from the network
