Circuit breakers and protection technology
Miniature circuit breakers protect circuits against overload and short circuit. Together with residual current protection devices, they form the basis of a safe electrical installation. The collection is aimed at electrical installers and planners of PV systems and charging infrastructure.
Decide based on number of poles, rated current and characteristic: 1P+N means a single-pole breaker with neutral conductor, 3P+N a three-phase one. The designations B or C and the current rating such as C20 or C40 are in the product name. Combination breakers (RCBO) combine overcurrent and residual current protection; the type A, A-SI or B-EV depends on the connected loads, such as a wallbox (EV charger).

B or C: which characteristic?
The two differ in tripping behaviour at inrush currents. B is often chosen for residential circuits, C for devices with a higher starting current. The binding selection is made by the qualified electrician.
What does RCBO stand for?
RCBO designates a combination breaker of residual current and overcurrent protection in one device. It protects a single circuit against overload, short circuit and residual currents and saves space in the distribution board.
Why are network devices listed here too?
