Victron Quattro 24/5000/120 24V 230V 4000W sine wave converter 120A battery charger

Description

The Quattro 24/5000/120-100/100 from Victron (MPN QUA245021010) is a device combination of a 24V 4000W sine wave inverter, a powerful battery charger and a transfer switch. It has two switchable AC outputs and 2 AC inputs, each equipped with a 100A transfer switch. The Quattro can be connected to two independent AC sources: for example to the public power grid and a generator or to two generators. The Quattro automatically connects to the active source.

The permanently integrated battery charger delivers a remarkable 120A, which means that even large batteries can be quickly fully charged when shore/mains power is available. The 24V sine voltage converter installed in the Quattro converts your battery power into 230V alternating current. Thanks to the real sine wave, the power quality is also perfect for sensitive electronic devices. In addition to the two integrated device types, 1 lightning-fast 100A transfer switch is installed for each AC input. Thanks to these switches, countless applications can also be implemented in the grid-connected area. In addition to the VE.Bus port, there are also 2 COM ports available for system integration, which enables virtually unlimited networking of the Quattro.

Extremely flexible thanks to 2 AC inputs and 2 AC outputs

The main output ensures uninterrupted operation. In the event of a power failure or an interruption in the shore/generator power, the Quattro takes over the supply of the connected consumers. The switchover occurs so quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic devices operate uninterrupted. The second output only supplies power when AC power is available at one of the Quattro's inputs. Consumers who are not allowed to discharge the battery, such as: B. a water heater can be connected to this output.

key performance features of the Quattro 24/5000/120-100/100

  • 4000W continuous power and 8000W peak power, for 24V battery voltage
  • Device combination of inverter with transfer switch and 120A battery charger
  • delivers the purest 230V sine wave voltage and a clean 50Hz frequency
  • 2 AC inputs with integrated transfer switch / 2 x 100 A maximum switchable current
  • 2 AC outputs + 1x additional output which only allows the current to pass to the consumer when the AC input is active.
  • VE.Bus communication port provides extensive networking, system integration, configuration and control options for Victron's Multiplus devices.
  • supports three-phase operation (3 identical units of the same model required)
  • Multiplus devices can be connected in parallel; up to 6 devices can be connected in parallel, thereby significantly increasing system performance if necessary
  • 2x COM ports are available in addition to the VE.Bus port, so there are virtually no limits to system integration
  • PowerControl function enables working with limited generator power as well as limited shore or mains power
  • PowerAssist function enables “performance increase” of generators and shore connection support when necessary
  • Can be used as a UPS solution for uninterrupted power supply, thanks to the integrated transfer switch with 16A or 50A
  • Can be used for grid-connected self-consumption systems that only draw electricity from the grid operator when the battery capacity is no longer sufficient or other programmable events have occurred
  • 3 separately programmable relays
  • Compatible with numerous Victron control and display panels
  • very high efficiency and low self-consumption

Massive performance expansion possible

Up to 6 Quattros can be connected in parallel. For example, with six 48/10000/140 units, this results in 54 kW/60 kVA output or 840 A charging current. Three units can be connected in a three-phase configuration. But that's not all: Up to 6 sets with three devices can be connected in parallel and you then get 162 kW/180 kVA inverter power and over 2,500 A charging capacity.

PowerControl – Working with limited generator power, limited shore or grid power

The MultiPlus is a very powerful battery charger. Therefore it draws a lot of power from the generator or shore power supply (almost 10A pro 5kVA Multi at 230 VAC). The maximum mains or generator current that can be drawn can be set using the Multi Control remote control panel. The MultiPlus then takes into account other connected AC consumers and only uses the electricity that is “left over” for charging. This prevents the generator or shore power connection from being overloaded.

PowerAssist – “performance enhancement” of generators and shore connection support

This function gives the PowerControl principle a new dimension. It allows the Quattro to support underpowered alternative sources. Load peaks often only occur for a limited period of time. In such a case, the Quattro ensures that weak shore power or generator output is immediately compensated for by energy from the battery.

Back-up system: alternating current even in the event of a power failure

The Quattro can be used in both off-grid and grid-connected PV systems as well as other alternative energy systems. Power failure detection software is available.

simple system configuration

If settings on a single device need to be changed, this can be done in a matter of minutes using a DIP switch setting procedure.
Parallel and three-phase systems can be configured using the VE.Bus Quick Configure and VE.Bus System Configurator software.

On-site monitoring options and control

Several options are available: Battery monitor, Multi Control Panel, Ve.Net Blue Power Panel, Color Control Panel, smartphone or tablet (Bluetooth Smart), laptop or computer (USB or RS232).

Remote monitoring and control

Victron Ethernet Remote, Victron Global Remote and the Color Control Panel enable remote maintenance and remote monitoring of the MultiPlus.  In addition, the system data can be saved and viewed free of charge on the VRM (Victron Remote Management) website.

Remote configuration

When systems with a color control panel are connected to the Ethernet, they can be accessed and settings can be changed remotely.
