The Multiplus 12/3000/120-16 from Victron Energy (MPN: PMP122300001) is a combination unit consisting of a 12V 2400W sine-wave inverter and a battery charger. The permanently integrated battery charger delivers an impressive 120A, so even large batteries can be fully charged quickly when shore or grid power is available. The 12V sine-wave inverter built into the Multiplus converts the power from your battery into 230V alternating current.
Thanks to the true sine wave, the power quality is perfectly suited even for sensitive electronic devices. In addition to the two integrated device types, a lightning-fast transfer switch is also built in, which allows numerous grid-connected solutions to be implemented. For system integration, a COM port is available in addition to the VE.Bus port, which makes virtually limitless networking of the Multiplus possible.
Comprehensive and flexible in use
This inverter combines a charger, an inverter and a fast transfer switch, making it perfect for motorhomes, boats, yachts and grid connection. It provides an uninterrupted power supply during grid fluctuations or outages. It is also ideal for self-consumption systems that only draw grid power when battery power is low, or as a UPS solution that ensures an uninterrupted flow of power if the grid fails.
About the Multiplus 12/3000/120-16
Powerful: 2400W continuous power, 6000W peak power at 12V battery voltage
All-in-one unit: Inverter with transfer switch, 120A battery charger
Reliable power supply: Pure 230V sine-wave voltage, 50Hz frequency
Networking: VE.Bus communication port enables comprehensive networking, configuration and control
Scalability: Up to 6 units can be connected in parallel for higher power
Flexibility: 2 AC outputs, COM port from Multiplus 3000 for extended system integration
Functions: PowerControl, PowerAssist for optimised power use
Versatility: Can be used as a UPS, suitable for grid-connected self-consumption systems
Compatibility: Supports various Victron control and display panels
Three-phase operation is possible with identical MultiPlus inverters
Massive power expansion possible
Besides parallel connection, three units of the same model can also be configured for a three-phase output. But that is not all: up to six sets of three units can be connected in parallel to achieve a huge 75 kW / 90 kVA inverter and over 2,000 A of charging capacity (calculated with the 5000 version)
PowerControl
Working with limited generator power, restricted shore or grid power
The MultiPlus is a very powerful battery charger. It therefore draws a lot of current from the generator or the shore power supply (almost 10A per 5kVA Multi at 230 VAC). With the Multi Control remote panel, the maximum grid or generator current to be drawn can be set. The MultiPlus then takes other connected AC loads into account and uses only the power that is still "left over" for charging. This prevents the generator or the shore power connection from being overloaded.
PowerAssist
"Power boost" for generators and shore power support
This function gives the PowerControl principle a new dimension. It allows the MultiPlus to support alternative sources that are undersized. Load peaks often only occur for a limited period of time. In such a case, the MultiPlus ensures that weak shore power or generator output is immediately compensated by energy from the battery.
Backup system: AC power even during a grid outage
The Multiplus can be used in both off-grid and grid-connected PV systems as well as in other alternative energy systems. Software for detecting a grid outage is available.
Simple system configuration
If settings on a single unit need to be changed, this can be done within a few minutes using a DIP-switch setting procedure.Parallel and three-phase systems can be configured with the VE.Bus Quick Configure and VE.Bus System Configurator software.
Monitoring options and local control
Several options are available: battery monitor, Multi Control panel, VE.Net Blue Power panel, Color Control panel, smartphone or tablet (Bluetooth Smart), laptop or computer (USB or RS232).
Remote monitoring and control
Victron Ethernet Remote, Victron Global Remote and the Color Control Panel allow remote maintenance and remote monitoring of the MultiPlus. In addition, system data can be stored and viewed free of charge on the VRM (Victron Remote Management) website.
Remote configuration
If systems with a Color Control panel are connected to Ethernet, they can be accessed and settings can be changed remotely.
