Battery Life Algorithm helps increase battery life
If the solar charge controller is unable to charge the battery to its full capacity within a day, the battery's status will constantly cycle back and forth between "partially charged" and "end of discharge". This operating mode (no regular full charging) is optimal for small lead batteries and, especially with lead-acid batteries, such irregular charging and discharging leads to damage to the battery after just a few months and the service life is sometimes shortened quite significantly
The Battery Life algorithm monitors the state of charge of the battery and, if necessary, increases the load disconnection threshold day by day (i.e. the load is disconnected earlier) until the energy obtained is sufficient to charge the battery to almost 100%. From this point onwards, the threshold for switching off the load is modulated so that close to 100% charging is achieved approximately once a week.
