The Smartsolar 100/15 from Victron Energy (MPN SCC110015060R) is one MPPT Solar Charge controller with 15A max. charging current for charging 12V and 24V batteries. In contrast to the Bluesolar 100/15, the Smart version has integrated Bluetooth, which makes purchasing Bluetooth dongles unnecessary. In addition, communication with other Victron devices such as the Color Control GX or the MPPT Control still has a VE.Direct connection available.
The integrated Bluetooth in the SmartSolar series is the wireless solution for setting up, monitoring and updating the controller using Apple and Android smartphones, tablets or other devices. Optionally, the MPPT WireBox-S 100-15 from Victron Energy is the ideal addition to your SmartSolar Charge controller. It securely covers the cable inputs and the connection terminals of the controller and thus protects them from external influences and contact.

Deep discharging of the battery can be prevented by connecting all loads to the load output. The load output disconnects the loads when the battery has been discharged to a specified voltage value. Alternatively, you can also choose an algorithm for intelligent battery management: see BatteryLife.
The load output is short-circuit proof.
Battery Life: intelligent battery management
If the solar charge controller is unable to charge the battery to its full capacity within a day, the battery's status will constantly cycle back and forth between "partially charged" and "end of discharge". This mode of operation (no regular full charging) will damage a lead-acid battery within a few weeks or months.
The Battery-Life algorithm monitors the battery charge level and, if necessary, increases the load disconnection threshold day by day (i.e. the load is disconnected earlier) until the energy obtained is sufficient to charge the battery to almost 100%. From this point onwards, the threshold for switching off the load is modulated so that close to 100% charging is achieved approximately once a week.
