The intelligent Smartshunt 500a from Victron Energy is a multifunctional battery engine with which you can display all information about your cell phone or via the VictronConnect app. So you have effortless access to all monitored battery parameters. Among other things, this includes the state of charge, the remaining term, course data and many other data. There is also the possibility to connect the Smartshunt on a GX device, such as a Cerbo-GX or the Color Control GX, and to read out of information from it. The connection is therefore via a VE.Direct cable. The waterproof battery lesser also represents an excellent option for BMV battery monitoring. Especially in systems where battery monitoring is required, but less wiring and disorder is required.

Why a battery monitoring?
Batteries are used in a variety of applications, mostly to store energy for future use. However, the amount of energy actually stored cannot be read directly on the battery. Factors such as sub- or overload, deep discharge, too high charging or discharge flows as well as high ambient temperature can shorten the lifespan of the battery. An advanced battery lesser enables the monitoring of this and provides important feedback to you as a user.
