Energy meters and smart meters
An energy meter measures how much electricity a household or system consumes, feeds in or generates. In this collection you will find meters for PV systems, storage and wallboxes (EV chargers) as well as meters for installation in the meter cabinet. It is aimed at installers and technically skilled system operators.
First choose the grid type: single-phase meters suit AC connections, three-phase meters suit house connections with three phases. After that, the measuring method counts; models with current transformers measure contactlessly, others directly up to a maximum current. For billing-relevant measurements, MID approval must be observed. For inverters, manufacturer compatibility is also important.

Which meter suits my inverter?
Many manufacturers offer their own meters intended for their devices. Where possible, use the type approved by the manufacturer. Tell us your device and we will find the matching meter.
What does MID mean?
MID stands for an EU-wide Measuring Instruments Directive. Devices with MID conformity may be used for billing. For pure self-consumption measurement it is usually not necessary. We state it where it is given in the product description.
Can I install a meter myself?
Work in the meter cabinet and on the grid connection may only be carried out by a qualified electrician. The grid operator must also be informed of any change to the meter position. Allow time and coordination for this.
