The Multiplus-II 48/5000/70-50 is a high-end combination unit from Victron Energy (MPN: PMP482505010) that combines classic Multiplus components with an external current sensor and an integrated anti-islanding function. This extends the PowerControl and PowerAssist functions to 100 A and widens the potential range of use to ESS applications. The inverter module delivers a full 5000 W under non-linear load, or 4000 W under continuous linear load. The 48 V battery charger is also very well proportioned with a charging power of 70 A and is complemented by a 50 A transfer switch that allows lightning-fast switching between the AC connections.

Always enough power thanks to PowerControl and PowerAssist
A maximum grid or generator current can be set on the Multiplus-II 48/5000/70-50. The MultiPlus-II then takes other connected AC loads into account and uses only the power that is still “left over” to charge the battery. This prevents the generator or the grid connection from being overloaded (PowerControl function). With the PowerAssist function, the PowerControl principle gains a new dimension. Load peaks often only occur for a limited period of time. In such a case, the MultiPlus-II immediately compensates for weak generator, shore or grid power with energy from the battery. When the load is reduced, i.e. when loads are switched off, the energy that is then available again can be used to charge the batteries.
Solar power: AC power even during a grid outage
The unit can be used in both off-grid and grid-connected PV systems as well as in other alternative energy systems. It can be used with solar charge controllers as well as with grid-tied inverters.
Maximum flexibility thanks to two AC outputs
The main output ensures uninterrupted operation. In the event of a grid outage or an interruption of shore or generator power, the MultiPlus-II takes over the supply of the connected loads. The switchover occurs so quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds) that uninterrupted operation of computers and other electronic devices is ensured. The second output only supplies power when AC power is available at the input of the MultiPlus-II. Loads that must not discharge the battery, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output.
Many options for system expansion
The settings can be changed within a few minutes using the VEConfigure software (a computer or laptop and an MK3-USB interface are required for this).Several monitoring and control options are available: Color Control GX, Venus GX, Octo GX, CANvu GX, laptop, computer, Bluetooth (with the optional VE.Bus Smart Dongle), battery monitor, Digital Multi Control panel.
Remote configuration and monitoring
Install a Color Control GX or other GX products to connect to the internet. The operating data can be stored and viewed free of charge on our VRM (Victron Remote Management) website. If systems are connected to the internet, they can be accessed remotely and settings can be changed.
