Integrated VE.Direct data communication port
VE.Direct in text mode transmits all important parameters every second to other devices coupled to the charge controller and thus allows communication with auxiliary devices such as the Bluetooth Smart dongle or the Victron GX Color Control panel. The VE.Direct port is intended for products for which a full CAN bus integration (VE.Direct) would cause excessive costs. Battery Life algorithm helps to increase battery life
If the solar charge controller is unable to charge the battery to its full capacity within a day, the battery status constantly alternates between "partially charged" and "end of discharge". This operating mode (no regular full charging) is optimal for small lead batteries, but with lead-acid batteries in particular, such irregular charging and discharging leads to damage to the battery after only a few months, and its service life is in some cases shortened considerably.
The Battery Life algorithm monitors the state of charge of the battery and, if necessary, raises the load disconnect threshold day by day (i.e. the load is disconnected earlier) until the energy gained is sufficient to charge the battery to almost 100%. From that point on, the load disconnect threshold is modulated so that charging to almost 100% is achieved about once a week.
