Recovery of deeply discharged "dead" batteries
Unlike most other brands and product lines, the Blue Smart IP22 charger will try to recharge a deeply discharged battery by forcing a weak charging current into it. Normal charging then resumes as soon as sufficient voltage is present across the battery terminals.

Pioneering efficiency
With an efficiency of up to 94%, these chargers generate up to four times less heat than the industry standard. In addition, once the battery is fully charged, power consumption drops to less than 0.5 watts, which is about five to ten times better than the industry standard.
Adaptive 7-stage charging algorithm
The 24/16(1) Blue Smart charger features microprocessor-controlled, “adaptive” battery management. “Adaptive” means that the charging process is automatically adjusted to the way the battery is used.
Storage mode: less maintenance and ageing while the battery is at rest
Storage mode is activated whenever no discharge has taken place within 24 hours. The float voltage is then reduced to 2.2V/cell (26.4V for a 24V battery) to minimise gassing and thereby prevent corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is raised to the gassing voltage level. This achieves a kind of equalisation charge that prevents electrolyte stratification and sulphation, the two main causes of premature battery failure.
