Smart sockets outdoor: selection and advice
Garden lighting, a pond pump or a balcony device can be switched on a timer via app outdoors. A weatherproof smart socket is available for this.
The protection rating is decisive. Outdoors, the device should be protected against splashing water, and the plug still does not belong in standing water. Also consider the range of your Wi-Fi up to the place of use.

Install the socket in a sheltered spot, for example under a roof overhang, and make sure the plug does not lie in puddles. Check how much power the connected load draws and stay within the limit stated on the product page. In winter, also observe the permitted temperature range.
Smart sockets generally need a Wi-Fi network and a manufacturer app. First set the device up within range of the router and only then move it to its final outdoor location.
